Questions we hear most

Questions

Do you take my insurance?

We file claims for many PPO dental plans, and we are not enrolled in DHMO plans. The plans we file for are listed on the contact page. Call and we'll check yours before you come.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay at the visit, and you get a written estimate first. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

No. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP, and we'll say so on the phone.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area before we work, and you can raise your hand to stop any time. We can't promise you'll feel nothing. Tell us if you're worried.

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Dr. Olmos decides, and she tells you why. This office focuses on urgent problems, and we'll tell you where to go for routine cleanings if you'd rather have them elsewhere.

What is a deep cleaning?

A cleaning below the gum line for gums that have pulled away from the teeth. Dr. Olmos tells you if she thinks you need one.

Do you see children?

Teenagers and adults, yes. For young children we'll tell you who to call.

What counts as a dental emergency?

A broken or knocked-out tooth, a toothache that won't ease, swelling in the gum or face, or a lost crown or filling. Trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling that spreads, needs an emergency room or 911.

Do you offer sedation?

No. We numb the area. If you'd need sedation, we tell you before the visit and who to see.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. You'll have it before we start, with each step and what it costs.

Do you speak Spanish?

Dr. Olmos does. The rest of the team speaks English.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call us as early as you can. If you can't make an urgent visit, tell us so we can offer the opening to someone else.

Call before you drive over

Tell us what happened and we'll say what to do first, and when we can see you.
